IDEA
Squarespace has always partnered with top talent for our advertising campaigns. Our challenge was to find ways to deepen and extend those partnerships to create long term value for the brand and our customers.
We created a new program called Squarespace Icons where we partner with the world’s most creative people to design websites using our new Fluid Engine. We take all of their creative choices — colors, fonts, layout styles — and create a template that anyone can use as a starting point for their own site. Think of it as a fashion collaboration model for website templates.
EXECUTION
Our first Icon was Icelandic musician Björk. We traveled to Reykjavik to build an immersive site for her new album, Fossora, and create a short film highlighting the collaboration. The Fossora site was then transformed into the Mycelium template, which is available as a starting point within Squarespace. The partnership created 2.2 million impressions and the template became one of the most popular options in our template store.
